McDonald Law Accounting was born within the Banking Sector, specifically Clydesdale Bank, where I began working in August 1995. After two successful years in the Glasgow branch network a job opportunity arose within the Cashroom of Jeffrey Aitken Solicitors. During the next two years I honed my skills in all aspects of Solicitors Cashroom accounting and administration. In addition, during this time I studied and successfully passed the SOLAS qualification. From here, the natural progression was to move to a large Firm.
In the course of the next four years I held leading roles within the Accounts Departments of Golds Solicitors and Semple Fraser LLP. These industry leading Firms gave me a beneficial insight into the operation of large scale commercial practices. In addition to the day job I continued to be involved with SOLAS and was honoured with the position of Vice President of the Glasgow Branch. Through my association with SOLAS I was contacted by a number of Firms for advice and assistance and in late 2004 I decided to form my own company providing freelance Cashroom solutions. Almost a decade later, McDonald Law Accounting continues to help, support and guide Firms across central Scotland.
Business owner, Andrew McDonald is SOLAS qualified and has held the position of Vice President of the Glasgow Branch and also served as Editor of the quarterly SOLAS newsletter.
